The antibiotics should have taken care of it by now. Go back to the doc and have tests done for other infections (STI's, BV, etc.). If that doesn't turn anything up, go to a urologist; it could be intersticial cystitis or a pelvic nerve disorder.

If you are not seeing a Urologist you may want to consider that. The cranberry juice and water are big help! Also you can buy a product over the counter to help with the pain and urgency, its called AZO. Remember to get up and go *** after having ***. This helps to remove any bacteria that may have gone into the urethra. Hope this helps!

You could ask at your chemist for a product called Cymalon which contains Potassium Citrate.

However, ther's always a chance your cystitis could be called by a bacterial infection, so see your doctor and ask him to check your urine. Sometimes it's necessary for a specimen to be sent away to the hospital path lab for culture. This will show exactly which bacteria is causing your problem and allow the doctor to prescribe the correct antibiotic for you.

In the meantime, drink plenty of water to flush out your system. Robinson's Lemon Barley Water diluted to taste is supposed to be good, too. Taking warm baths without any perfumed bath additives may help ease the pain, and only use unperfumed soap when washing sensitive areas.

Hope you soon feel better. I know how horrible cystitis can be!
